Carl McDonald

Director of Allied Health and Technical

Carl combines two roles as the director of allied health and technical, as well as the clinical lead physiotherapist. The director of allied and technical’s position exists to lead and transform the Allied and Technical workforce. Ensuring that the people of Tairawhiti receive care in accordance with best practice and with the needs of the patient and whanau at the centre of our decision making.

Carl graduated from AUT with a BHSc(Physio). Since then he has worked throughout New Zealand in both rural and regional hospitals. Moving to Gisborne in 2016 with his wife Christel. Since moving to Gisborne life has been very busy… Work commitments (including a few seasons supporting the East coast rugby team as their physiotherapist) alongside completing some postgraduate study and welcoming a new baby girl into the family has not left a lot of time spare.

Carl enjoys hunting, fishing, mountain biking or anything that involves the water.
