326 new cases after local flooding

There are 326 new cases today and 4 people are in hospital.

 Gisborne Hospital hasn’t been affected by the flooding and all services are operational. If you need emergency medical care, please call 111.

 

  • Please don’t assume Civil Defence knows about any serious situations in your area, advise them on 0800 653 800.
  • For non-urgent health advice call Healthline on 0800 611 116.
  • Please keep our emergency department for emergencies only.
  • It’s NOT ok to go without your medications for serious conditions if you are isolated due to flooding. Arrangements can be made to get you what you need. Contact Civil Defence on 0800 653 800.
  • For those with COVID who have been displaced by the flooding, please continue to follow COVID guidelines as strictly as possible. Seek medication to relieve your symptoms.
  • Please treat floodwater as contaminated. Floodwaters can carry bugs that cause disease from the ground surface, septic tanks and sewerage systems.
