Cases Identified

Two further people have been provisionally identified as being COVID-19 positive in Tairāwhiti.

There is a third person who was exposed in Tairāwhiti as part of the cluster and who has tested positive in Palmerston North after travelling there on Saturday.

Note: Only one will be reported on the Ministry of Health update at 1pm.

Active work is being undertaken to identify any further contacts of these new cases.

Support and testing arrangements are in place.

These people are all directly linked to the 27 January Cluster of three people who were at Sound Splash, and were identified as their contacts.

 

Testing

Symptoms for testing: cold or flu symptoms, sore throat, cough, or gastro symptoms like diarrhoea. Of course people may have these symptoms for reasons other than COVID-19, however it is best to be sure and get tested if you have any or a combination of them.

26 January Case

The source of this Delta case has now been identified through a person from Rotorua and contracted out of the district.
