HealthCare New Zealand selected as preferred provider for Home Care Support Services

After a comprehensive selection process, the Hauora Tairāwhiti Board formally announces the appointment of HealthCare New Zealand as the preferred provider of Home Care Support Services in Tairāwhiti.

HEALTHCARE NEW ZEALAND

HealthCare New Zealand is an experienced national provider of a range of community health, nursing and disability services, supporting over 20,000 people at any one time. They are locally-based with an office in Gisborne and are already delivering a restorative model of care under an ACC Home and Community Support Services contract. They have been providing similar services for more than 25 years.

HealthCare New Zealand has experience in operating under the restorative model for older people in other parts of the country and will bring this experience to the new service here. The HealthCare New Zealand service approach has been developed to meet the needs of local Tairāwhiti communities and shows a clear understanding of the challenges faced in each locality, and how home support services can be a part of the solution.

They operate as part of a successful joint venture with three Māori providers in the Bay of Plenty region, delivering home and community support services through the Bay of Plenty Community Health Alliance (Te Whakareia).

During the selection process HealthCare NZ were able to strongly demonstrate their experience and knowledge in all of the Home Care Support Services specifications and evaluation criteria as set by Hauora Tairāwhiti.

Hauora Tairāwhiti welcomes HealthCare NZ to this vitally important role of supporting older people and their families to live well in their community and to restore independence where this is possible. HealthCare New Zealand has the expertise and commitment for a seamless transition of services from CCS Disability Action so that people receiving care are supported, and caregivers are also supported in the transition.

Hauora Tairāwhiti and HealthCare New Zealand are looking forward to this partnership, delivering high quality home and community support services to the people of the Tairāwhiti region.
