What to do if you think you have COVID-19

The symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  • A cough
  • Sore throat
  • Sniffles
  • Fever
  • Loss of smell or taste
  • Shortness of breath.

These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have COVID-19. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.

If you have these symptoms call your local GP immediately or call into the War Memorial Theatre Assessment Centre between 9am -11am and 1-3pm Monday - Friday and 1-4pm on the weekend.

You can also be assessed at Te Puia Community Assessment Centre and at Waikohu Health Centre, but you must call first

Healthline can also provide advice, you can call them (for free) on 0800 358 5453.
