Changes to isolation rules, 334 new cases

There are 334 new cases in Tairāwhiti today and one person is in hospital.

Thank you to the 2143 people who have reported their positive result and are slowing the spread by isolating with loved ones. We know it isn’t easy. Kia kaha!

It will be a relief to a lot of us that from tonight at midnight, isolation for positive cases and household contacts changes from 10 to seven days.

Household contacts still need RAT tests at day 3 and 7. If you are in isolation now and have been for 7 days, you test negative and have no symptoms, you’re free!

This will be our last update for the week, so we’ll have the next report for you on Monday morning.

If you’d like to know our active case numbers over the weekend, you can check here https://www.health.govt.nz/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-data-and-statistics/covid-19-current-cases

Please help slow the spread this weekend and if you need support, please reach out.
